Head of the archeological group of the “Restoration of historical sites of the Kultobe settlement» project
Sorokin D. V. is a specialist in the preservation and restoration of archaeological sites, as well as in 3D–modeling and reconstruction.
Since 2005, Denis Viktorovich has been the senior specialist of more than ten archaeological expeditions of Otrar, Kayalyk, Akyrtas, Taraz sites and other cities. From 2017, site director of several expeditions: excavations of the medieval Buddhist temple Ablaykit, documentation of cultural heritage sites in Shylykti valley, specialist in geomagnetic research in the international expedition Ak–Beshim (Kyrgyzstan) and many others. He is a researcher at Rutrum.
Starting from 2020 he is the head of the archeological group of the “Restoration of historical sites of the Kultobe settlement» project.
He has more than 15 scientific articles about restoration and preservation of archaeological sites problems. Examples: “The collection method, processing and demonstration of information during the project implementation”, “Creating the GIS – portal “Monuments of history and culture of Kazakhstan”, “The field research on the Aral–Asar settlement on the mausoleum Kerderi 2” and many others.
