Project mission: To research, preserve and promote national tangible and intangible cultural heritage, both nationally and globally, from a scientific, educational and cultural perspective.
Since the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan-Elbasy N.A. Nazarbayev signed the historic decree on the establishment of Turkestan region on 19 June 2018, ancient Turkestan has received a new impetus for its further development and a comprehensive research of its history, culture and art.
The project “Restoration of historical sites of Kultobe settlement” is one of the significant items of the Comprehensive Plan of Social and Economic Development of Turkestan region till 2024. From then on, a large-scale study of the most historically ancient part of Turkestan - the Kultobe settlement - began, with the aim of developing a scientific concept for a unique archaeological park in the open air.
Project goal: comprehensive historical and archaeological: excavations, conservation, partial restoration and ethno-socio cultural research of the Kultobe settlement.
The project will investigate 27 hectares of the archaeological territory of Kultobe settlement, conserve and partially restore the most significant historical sites and substantiate the ethno-social role of Kultobe in the development of the spiritual capital of the Turkic world - the sacred city of Turkestan.
The project refers to socially significant services for the preservation of objects of historical and cultural heritage and cultural values included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
